Teddy 1

( 6 months to 18 months )

Every toddler needs a great deal of physical and emotional care, and in our Teddy 1 class we nurture the children with cuddles, praise and a warm friendly environment. We encourage independence in terms of feeding themselves, learning to keep their balance and even taking their first steps in walking. The children’s own pace is respected at all times, especially at nap and meal times. We allow our children to learn, grow and develop as individuals. Activities will include sensory fun, creative, construction, music/singing, physical, outdoor play and many more. We look forward to supporting our young children and seeing the amazing changes in each individual as their personalities develop and begin to shine through.

The classroom is equipped with a wide range of educational and stimulating toys that help the children strengthen their fine and gross motor skill along with encouraging them to use all of their 5 senses. They have a monthly theme where they can enjoy taking part in numerous colourful art activities.

Teddy 2

( 18 months up to 3 years )

Our Teddy 2 classes and curriculum provides a balance of nurturing, playtime and learning throughout the day. Our low student-to-teacher ratio allows for more support, more interaction and more fun for the children.

The academic board changes fortnightly in order to allow the children to absorb, learn and enjoy an array of activities related to our curriculum. Doing so allows students to progress steadily throughout the year in a more confident and relaxed time frame. Our monthly themes further provide new material and topic discussions to keep the classroom and its learning activities varied, keeping even the most active children on their toes. We focus on communication and language development through listening, speaking, storytelling and role play activities.  Your child will gently learn about numbers, patterns, shapes and routine through play and daily scheduling.  An abundance of group activities are on offer to encourage social, emotional and physical development which is a key part of your child’s learning.

Our children are also observed daily in order to provide parents with a formalized observation based assessment which allows you to see your child’s progression throughout the year, culminating with a portfolio capturing your child’s work, progress and learning journey in colourful pictures.

Jolly Phonics

What  is Jolly Phonics?

Jolly Phonics is a method of teaching the letter sounds in the way that is fun and multi-sensory. Children learn how to use the letter sounds to read and write words. This program continues through to primary school enabling the teaching of essential grammar, spelling and punctuation skills.

1. Fun and engaging program that uses song and actions to assist children in learning the sounds that form the first phases of reading.

2. Jolly Phonics is an inclusive program that children continually build on as their reading and phonics skills develop.

3. The method of building on sounds assists children in ‘sounding out’ words very early in their reading development.

4. Children from Teddy Bear will already be equipped with the foundation knowledge and skills in Jolly Phonics as they transition to ‘big school’ giving them immediate confidence in their new ‘big school.’

5. The program has received recognition for its effectiveness in multilingual children.
